Isn't Iceland prinicply volcanic rock like the Hawaiian islands? In which
case I would think the rock would be pretty uniform across the island and
probably not that interesting geologically.


And yes, this does have some connection to food, as the rocks and thus

the soils generated affect what you can grow in a region. However, the
climate, at least for Iceland may play a bigger part.
