Well, i guess i'm just weird, but not only do i find that Splenda has
an aftertaste, but i continue to taste it intensely for *at least* 45
minutes after having even a little bit, and often longer. Yuck.

I do occasionally eat some Splenda-containing stuff, but i drink
masses of water with it and after it and sometimes i end up having a
cheese chaser to minimize the lingering intense unpleasant sweetness
- and that only lessens it, it doesn't go away.

Atkins is great 'cuz i can have whipped cream. I don't add any
sweetener at all, but i do add real vanilla. So, a limited amount of
strawberries and as much whipped cream as i want for dessert.
Mmm-mmm-mmm.

Re someone else's comments on inaccuracies in reportage on Atkins...
I was very annoyed when an NPR reporter (on All Things Considered, i
think) commented on how one can't eat any vegetables or fruits on the
Atkins diet. This was during an interview with a cardiologist about
the study that found that the high fat Atkins diet was more effective
at reducing weight and lowering cholesterol than the low fat diet
developed by American Cardiologists... The cardiologist, who was
involved in the study, didn't correct him (or if he did, it was
edited out). And of course the cardiologist felt that the high carb
promoted by the American Cardiologists was better than the Atkins...

Off Atkins for the past week (didn't pig out out sweets or carbs, but
did eat them) and re-starting today.
