This is the way it is done here in Atlantia.  Well, perhaps some folks may
know somehow, but by and large it is a call into court and the order is
summoned and some member of the order or orders speak on behalf of the
candidate, then a cerimonial cape is laid on their shoulders and a medallion
is pesented and tons of hugs and cheers.  That is for Pelican and Laurel.
For Pearl it is somewhat similar but with no one speaking for the candidate
and no cape.  When they gave me my Pearl, a small court kind of sprang up
next to where we were putting out a royal luncheon and Master Chirhart was
given to try to strangle me with the medallion (of course that was by
accident, but it was very funny).
