Probably :-)

You shouldn't try to steam veggies in rice cooker.

I've never had a problem with the rice cooker I have.

Rince the rice two or three time (ideally, or just don't bother).  Place
rice, cover with appropriate amount of water (1.5 to 2 times the amount of
rice).  Plug the thing in, press the button and let it its thing.  When it
stops cooking, it will "snap" out of active cooking, but will remain warm.
If you leave the rice there too long, it might have scorched, but that's
not happened to me.
If you use "instant rice", it's likely to not be happy.
If you don't put enough water to rice ratio, it's likely to not be happy.
But all in all, they are one of the best invention since the wheel, IMHO :-)
