I don't remember if it was Damon Knight, but I saw the episode, and have read the story. And yes, I occasionally date myself, too. I saw the original Star Trek TV shows - I was a mere infant, of course. My mom didn't like me to watch "Twilight Zone" or "Outer Limits" because they gave me nightmares.
