I attempted to use one of woods starters and had less
than what I would call pleasant results, it died
rapidly no matter that I followed the care
instructions to the letter.

The better sour dough starters in the world that I
have found come from those little old ladys that have
had the same batch of starter for sometimes literally
years.(My Grandmothers has been around long enough
that it should be in family portraits)I have not had
any luck with freezing starter so I dont mess with
keeping more than one type around at a time.(Finding a
good home for starter doesnt seem to be a problem)

Aside from just the normal boogles in bread making I
have almost always used starters in my breads. To me
it is the easiest and most consistant way to bake.
