Herein lies my assertion that religion and spirituality/faith are often
abject strangers . . . sometimes bitter enemies. I see religion as the
organized, communal, outward system or practices and rituals. Just
because you have a religion or a chuirch doesn't always mean you have a
true spiritual relationaship with anyone or anything . . . anyone can
wear an emblem and attend a service.

Same thing extrapolates for me to the people who espouse or particular
craft here . . . just because you read a book about medieval food and
can mis en place a little bit does NOT make you a historical cook. Nigh
anyone can cook up some brown glop, but it is the personal investment in
the culture and relationship with the process and the people and souls
who did it back then that will make the difference.
