Of course, my experience has nothing to do with forges, which get
devilishly hot, but...  I remember working 'round Christmas time in Noosa
Heads in Australia.  It was near 38C in the shade.  I was in the kitchen,
working the grill.
We had a flat top (heavy cast iron kept hot by burners under it), an open
grill, two ovens going full blast at about 500F, two salamenders, a couple
deepfryers on one side.  On the other side, the steam tables, and the
heated pass.

I'd go through about 3 gallons of water a day, and 3, 4 shirts a day as well...

And I'd do it again rather than to have to deal with sub 70's weather for
Winter!
