OK, i was surfing the web looking for lebkuchen recipes... then i
started looking for gingerbread, then pain d'epices - on a
Franco-Polish site was a recipe for Baba po polsku/Baba a la
Polonaise - a sort of spice-fruit cake - in French

Besides the usual ingredients of milk, butter, sugar, eggs, flour,
dry yeast, mace powder, slivered almonds, sliced lemon peel,  and
arak (an anise liqueur from Turkey - ok, so that isn't something we
usually use) was

5 g de petits raisins de Corinthe

So while we Americans may call them "currants" these days, some other
places retain the more Medieval name...
