Yes, I've run across that... They picked that pinch of sugar thing up from
The Fanny Farmer Cookbook. The pinch of sugar is supposed to add a "hint" of
richness. Just a personal observation, but I don't see it myself. Fanny seems
to have added sugar to everything.

In Southern cooking it's kind of like bringing coals to Newcastle<G>.
