The Salt Lick, outside of Austin, has good BBQ.  It's in the middle of
nowhere, well off the beaten path, but everybody goes anyway, because the
food is so good.   And, if you like funny road signs, there's a town
(Driftwood) just up the way with a pole covered in signs.  "Jones family
2.5 miles"  "Smith farm 5.3 miles"  etc, complete with little arrows to
point you in the right direction.  There's also a small antique/junk
store.
