Deep-fried cheese curds?

I kid you not. They're a MN State Fair staple--and I can't even look at
them without getting queasy. Cheese curds should be squeaky-fresh. They
should not be drowned in batter and then tortured in hot oil until crispy.
Yick. And no, I don't eat mozzerella sticks, either.

Although I think the chicken-fried bacon might win the high-fat award.
