Anniversary in the sense it's a recurring day over time.  "Ymbe  (around)
ryne (run or running) daeg (day)."

Sepetember 14 is the Exhaltation of the Cross.  December 13 is St. Lucy's
Day (virgin martyr of Syracuse, Sicily, 303 AD).  Ember Day Saturdays were
commonly used for ordinations.
