At some point you're going to be told by somebody or other that the
conversion charts and the lists of how much of each food constitutes
a serving are all wrong because SCAdians, especially "da fighters"
are different from "normal people". This argument is generally used
in support of buying at least a pound of boneless meat per person.
Don't fall for it.

This may be so on an individual, case-by-case basis, but overall,
they're generally quite accurate, and it's worth remembering that the
money you don't spend for foods that are going to be left over can be
spent on food that will be eaten, or just to keep you on or under
budget. The major qualifier to their accuracy is that an SCA feast is
generally more dishes than the average modern meal.
