I balance by playing with food.  Silly, I know, but the stuff I read and
hear about sotelties from the past mesh so well with the modern stuff.  You
just choose more appropriately for period.  So many of the recipes or
ingredients are the same, marzipan, sugarplate, almost every other food.
But I love to play.  And I'm an artist.  And a cook. Cripes.  If I ever went
out in the mundane world and looked for a mate I would be hard pressed to
find someone!
