Mushrooms.
they have a very meaty taste.. and are quite filling. they also add a very
meaty flavor to a stew. (especially Crimini, or Portobellos) sauteed
mushrooms on toast points is a very good dish. and a mushroom and barley
stew will fill you up with the best of them.
stuffed peppers, or squash.... take your "container" and fill with whatever
you have handy, but usually a grain... and abunch of veggies... and a
broth.. and then bake. i thought i sent a recipe to this list already???
garlic and onion slow cooked.. a period recipe. and VEGAN........ is a side
dish for many, but served with bread it has been a main dish for some Vegans
i know.
the only fish i like are salmon, and trout, and bluefish. so i may not be
best suited to discuss fish.
gluten meat substitute is OLD.. as old as bread, really. although i dont
like the taste myself i know folks who do......
you keep kneeding and washing the dough until you just have a mass of
gluten.. then you cook it firm and use it like meat.
not a vegetarian, so i may not be the best for this.
