[Sca-cooks] RE: [MR] catered feasts

In my opinion, this will be a hard sell, and likely to be poorly recieved.
People my gripe that you are supporting a business with the event and that is a
little too commercial.
Perhaps you can set it up such that the feast is an optional extra, sort of like
the businesses at the food court at Pennsic, or like a cash bar at some halls.
That way people won't feel like the SCA is _organizationally_ supporting the
merchant, and resent the "imposition".

But I may be over reading it.

I have seen events where the SCA feast cook prepared the foot at a kitchen
rented in a small hall rented off site, and trucked in to the feast hall,
portioned and served. ( some of it was even still hot).
Depending on the logistics, that could be a very doable alternative.

In any case, if the caterer is truly willing to experiment with PERIOD foods,
that could also be very interesting, and very instructive.

Now I an not so sure... sheesh.

After fumbling with the pedals, getting saddle
sores from a too-small seat, and struggling
uphill, you realize why you got a car in the
first place.
