You missed the point Stefan- yes, men wore gloves in period. *But not while
swearing fealty!* Wearing gloves while swearing fealty... expresses
disdain, contempt even. You won't even *touch* the lord? Don't ever do it
unless you really mean it. And even then, it really is bad form and
courteous folk don't do it.

Put on the gloves later. But don't wear them while you swear.
