On topic? Maybe not. We could always spin this out into a discussion of
funeral breads and how to build a period crypt. <g>

Funeral games, what a wonderful and very ancient way to commemorate a beloved
departed anachronist with an early period persona! Play hard, party hard in
his honour; to do otherwise will do him less than justice. May the sweet
memories lighten grief.

We went to a memorable funeral this summer for THL Eyana bat-David, who battled
hard and pulled three years out of a six-month cancer prognosis. Well, Eyana
had several hobbies, each involving its own wardrobe. The family requested
that the funeral attendees come dressed in the costume of the activity they
shared with the dear departed. So, there were not only SCA [our finest finery]
but American Civil War, Star Trek, Star Wars and other assorted anachronisms.
The family and the presiding rabbi were delighted by the diverse garb and the
fact that about three times as many mourners attended than were expected,
coming from all over the US. She was, and is, muchly loved.
