Sitka has been repaired and I am back online at last.

With regard to a Persian cookbook, I would recommend taking a look at
Batmanglij. She's a Washington DC area author and we used to find her
books only in the local Mid-eastern food markets. Her latest is Silk
Road Cooking A Vegetarian Journey.
Mage Publishers 2002. It was featured in an extensive article in the
Washington Post this past summer in connection with the Summer Folklife
Celebrations on the Mall in DC. Jessica's Biscuit is featuring it at a
really good price. http://www.ecookbooks.com/index.html

Another is a paperback A Taste of Persia An Introduction to Persian
Cooking. Mage. 1999-2000.

If you go to her publisher at: http://www.mage.com/
you can click on her name and see more about her books and the press
which specializes in Persian culture. Several recipes are available to
see as well.

What I especially like about her books is that they contain excellent
color photos of most of the dishes featured so you know what the dish
should look like. This is very helpful.

Hope this helps.

Lorète suggested also--New Food of Life: Ancient Persian and Modern
Iranian Cooking and
Ceremonies
by Najmieh Khalili Batmanglij

 are good choices.
