Yes, you're right, however, the two top petals are much smaller than the
three lower ones, and sit in behind the left and right petals, so to my mind
they melt into one.

If you look at the Love-In-Idleness (the Elizabethan name for pansy) on the
blackwork pattern in http://www.blackworkarchives.com/bw_sesns.html , you
will see that the pictorial image reflects this.
