Thank you again Faerisa for making these Portugese recipes available.

Might I ask one favor though?

I suspect that you are using Word to create your text. Unless you turn
off the specific "feature", Microsoft insists on turning things like
fractions such as 1/2 (meaning 0.5) into a single, special character.
Unfortunately, depending upon the software that the text is going
through and whether the person has the special font with that special
character, they may or may not see the character you intended.

For instance, the following:
> Perada
> Pear Dessert

> Cook with their skins 1 ½ Kilograms of pears, straining them afterwards
> through a sieve.
The 1 /2 after the "skins 1 " showed up as an underscore in my digest.
Surprisingly, it did come out right when I copied it to Mail to write
this message. But when I saved it using Word for the Florilegium, it
again disappeared. So if I detect it soon enough, I can retrieve the
correct fraction but...

This also had problems:
> For two kilograms of quinces, use 2 ½ kilograms of sugar.

We have discussed this problem before, probably before you joined this
list. I think most people got around this by using "0.5" although I
think "1 / 2" may also work. If you have the right version of Word you
can also hunt around a bit and turn off this automatic feature that
turns the multiple characters into special characters.

But if this is too difficult or too much trouble, please don't stop
posting these recipes because of it. I will try to catch and make
changes before I save the message.
