I tend to alternate, slightly arbitrarily, between "adaptation",
"interpretation", and "re-working". The last was probably stolen from
Cariadoc, with his "worked-out versions".
Yes, their meanings differ slightly, but they're all better than an
unnecessarily high-falutin' term for "edit".
