I guess I'm lucky, since my "modern job" is here at home. But I do
understand -- Tom routinely schedules a day or two off before we cook, and
then has to go in for a meeting, and his office is sort of like a black
hole -- if he goes in at all, even for an hour, he doesn't get back out
until very late.

But if I were facing that situation, I would have a deputy who *could* take
off the day before the feast.
