What you have sounds very much like the Kitchenaid Mixer I have...only 
mine is grey. But it does come in red these days (mine is over ten years 
old!). I have never regretted for a minute the purchase of my machine. I 
have used it, with attachments, for everything from grinding the meat 
and stuffing th sausages to squeezing lemons for lemonade. My husband 
has used it to make bread. The thing that I find amazing is that it is 
as old as it is, and runs just as it did the day I purchased it. Yes, if 
you can get it for tht amount, I strongly suggest that you do so. Just 
make sure that it comes in its original carton and that you have a 
warranty card, which you can fill out and send back to Kitchenaid.
