I believe the only person who pointed out that freezing an alcoholic beverage wasn't illegal was
myself. The references which followed in response were clearly pointing to the BATF regulations
that distillation of alcohol 'by any means' is illegal, which would imply, and was implied, that I
could be arrested, convicted, fined and have my entire inventory of meager possessions destroyed
by jack-booted thugs for doing so. Which is wrong.

We shall see soon enough, I'll wager. The paranoia-driven point which has been made is that even
the unintentional distillation of alcohol via freezing is grounds for arrest, conviction and
sentencing. The three questions are framed to answer all three aspects of the discussion:
1) If I do it unintentionally, do I face prosecution?
2) If I do it intentionally, in the small amounts we have been discussing, do I face prosecution?
3) If it turns out that the BATF does consider the intentional distillation of minute amounts of
alcohol a violation, will they, in fact, waste hundreds of man-hours to investigate, prosecute,
sentence and incarcerate me.

Remember, we are not talking about a full-fledged still here...or even major ice-distillation
program. We were discussing mead frozen in ice-cube trays, with the small amount of alcohol
poured off to bolster another batch of mead.
