I imagine so, given the large number and variety of different "caudles"
and such in historical texts. I'd venture a guess that they're pretty
ubiquitous to cultures that keep dairy critters (milk, eggs, etc.) AND
consume alcohol (so your Muslim neighbor in 12th c. Andalusia wouldn't
make them, but you might...)
