By the way, I find that my kitchen is a bit safer if I remember to change
into contacts rather than wearing my glasses-- not only am I less likely
to be blinded by steam, etc, but my depth perception is better. So, YMMV.
:)

Same thing with shoes... I won't work with open fires without shoes, nor
in someone else's kitchen; but since I've injured my feet more times IN
shoes than without and don't own any steel-toe boots, my shoe repellent
feet periodically tend to get the better of me when I'm running the
kitchen. So far, no problems with said feet have ensued. But I understand
the idea and try to remember to wear shoes.
