Well, now that many folks are used to Sekanjabin, one solution if you 
want something slightly different from this would be to use another 
similar recipe. There are quite a number of similar period drinks, many 
of which have probably never been redacted in the past century, much 
less over-used in the SCA. Personally, I'd love to see more of these 
redacted and served. You can find the recipes for  these in this file 
in the BEVERAGES section of the Florilegium and perhaps more on 
Cariadoc's site:
