Albuquerque is cold and doing the xmas baking early (and 
freezing it) helps to warm up the house before actually 
succumbing to turning the furnace on.  our house is 
passive solar, and keeps temps well enough that turning on 
the furnace is a big thing for us.

made mince meat thanksgiving friday. that was a great 
smell!  got me really started on the holidays.
