[Sca-cooks] Sea Frog Question from another list

Can anyone help this gentle?  So far there has been a suggestion of 
looking in Alan Davidson's works on fish.  Many of the sources that pop 
up with a google search do not cite specific sources.

Has anyone come across references in medieval sources to sea frogs (Blennius 
pholis) and hair shampoo or eating recipes by any chance ? It is aledgedly 
from a Medieval Italian cook book ?
