Baroness Gwyneth of Ramsey Mere might disagree about UK spellings, being a 
transplant who had some "spelling problems" in high school in Alabama.

I tend to use either spelling as the mood strikes me.  Out of cussedness 
rather than pretension or sense of correctness.
