Woolgar, C.M. The Great Household in Medieval England.  Yale University 
Press.  This is a very comprehensive look at the structure of noble 
households and the manorial system in England.  Very useful in understand 
the social structure that was prevalent through much of Northern Europe in 
the High Middle Ages although the book is specific to England.
