As far as I know, they're the same: products which may be eaten either with meat or with dairy.  (Just not both at the same time.) :)
I suspect that "PARVE" is either a misspelling which became accepted, or a regional variant, pronounced as it is said - but I have NO evidence to back me up on this, so it's JUST a theory.  And half-baked, at that.

Okay.  What is the difference between "pareve"
and "parve"?  I have seen both on several
different products, so I don't think that one
