It was - on the up side- it was made with some great fresh pasta sheets, not
the dried kind.

I wasn't there (being busy at East Kingdom Twelfth Night at the
time), but it sounds like macrows, a time-tested favorite that always
goes over well; I think it appears in Two Fifteenth Century Cookery
Books, and certainly in Cariadoc's Miscellany.
