Thanks all of you! Keep those cards & letters coming ;0)

We are wee shire here, Wintermist, Caid, about 2 hours out of Angels (Los Angeles, California) and 2 hours out of Nordwache (Fresno, California). We do one local feast a year, but the last two have been rather impressive, extremely tasty well-documented food. It typically serves 40-80, with a $10 pricetag. Since the event is done for the benefit of toys for needy children, the feast fee must help recoup the site rental. As a Kingdom, Caid always has a 12th Nite Feast. There are a couple of weekend events that come with food for the whole weekend, a Baron's birthday barbecue, and usually another baronial feast or two per year. Dame Selene and Mistress Huette can probably chime in with more accurate Caidan information than I. (Hint, hint, chime in you two ;o) Feasts are more the exception, than the norm here. When I started in the SCA 19 years ago, most anniversary tourneys came with at least a dessert revel, but the revels have died out. I suspect it is the tightening of the
responsibility for drunken drivers' laws, but the revelry, even without the alcohol is missed.

About how many folks are in the Shire of the Iron Bog, Christopher, & where is it mundanely situated and how far do folks have to come to play with you?

I live in the East Kingdom in the Shire of Iron Bog. Our shire puts on two
to three events each year with feast. The typical number of people is 100
with a cost of $8-$10 per head.

But we are just a shire in the Southern Region of the East Kingdom, every
weekend there are events, up to 4, I can drive to and they usually all serve
feast.
