Creative Supplimentation (was RE: [Sca-cooks] English Doctors want to ban pointy knives...)

I started in the SCA in Florida (Trimaris) then after
a short time ended up in Caid, most northern part of
Caid, Barony of Nordwache. IF you go much more north
of Fresno, you are no longer in Caid, you are in
Kingdom of the West. I, too, was in a bit of 'culture
shock' at the difference in the events.
As Huette mentions, most of Caid is a short
drive--down side is, if you live over the grapevine,
towards Fresno or Bakersfield that short drive just
doubled. It is a 5 hour drive to San Diego, and was
about 2 1/2 to Los Angeles. Not something you really
want to do for a day trip type event (the 2 1/2 maybe,
but not the 5).

Now I am back on the east coast (Virginia to be exact)
and happy to be back to the weekend events that have
feasts.

As far as the West-Caid wars go--being in that Barony
on the boarder that I was, Nordwache ended up doing a
weekend event called Treasure Chest that pretty much
became the substitute for that war. Last one I went
to, was bigger and better than the one before. It is
a weekend event, held at a regular park that they let
the group use for the weekend (meaning no regular
showers, and no one brave enough to do primitive
feasts).
