I wrote the filk yesterday. However, the "I'm a paragon and I'm okay" filk idea came from
another, a Duke and a Knight, named Duke Martin the Temperate. I am not sure if he wrote a whole
filksong, but he did come up with the quip, based, of course, on the Monty Python song, "I'm a
lumberjack and I'm okay."

Many, many years ago, in a kingdom by the sea, there lived a wondrous kingdom. They called it
Caid. One day, the King called for a Curia Regis ...

I was not at this Curia, but I have been told that someone brought a complaint about how
some people were not getting the awards they deserved. Someone else thought that people
had to be "paragons of virtue" in order to get a knighthood. Sir Martin was then heard to
sing "I'm a paragon and I'm okay."

I have always had it in the back of my mind to write a filk on this theme and, because I was in a
silly mood yesterday [okay, when am I not? I am a very silly person!], I thought it appropriate to
finally put words and filk in motion.

If there are other versions, I don't know. Are there other paragons, do you mean? Of course,
there are other paragons! We all are paragons here, aren't we????

Maybe I will write a version for Sesame Street ... "I'm a parallelogram and I'm okay" ...
