Uh oh. Then folks might want to increase the amount of roses they use 
if they are using modern hybrid roses. The scent is one of the things 
that has reportedly been diminishing in the modern rose hybrids as 
other characteristics such as color, appearance, symmetry are chosen 
for.

In the Middle East this apparently not true and fragrant roses are 
grown there. That is also why much of the rose oil and rose water comes 
from there.
