Oh dang, it's just on the tip of my brain... there's something like that 
in the early Arabic literary corpus. Either 1001 Nights or somewhere 
else.  Drat. I recall seeing a good translation in competent English 
couplets.  I'll try to remember to crack the books over the weekend.
