[Sca-cooks] Need advice/suggestion for counter top

If you make a cutting board for the hole, then make it so that it can be
removed for easier cleaning. Make it so that its body is 30"x 30" but add
a couple of handles that would rest on the countertop. This way, you will
fill in the hole, but be able to remove the cutting board to wash it or
use it elsewhere, if needed.

Make the cutting board of a solid wood, not a laminate. I have one the
was made for my house, but after 30+ years, the top layer has worn away
and I have several "holes" that cause problems and make it harder to clean.
Most of the cutting boards I have seen are of oak or maple, all solid wood.
No finish. Just smooth but unfinished wood. You could add a layer of mineral
oil to keep it nice, but I have found that unfinished wood works very nicely.
