I know that there are those who think that "hobby" equates with
"dilletante"..in other words, it's something that the person isn't really
serious about.  However, I tend to agree with you, Jadwiga.  I know it's
something I have great fun doing, something that teaches me an enormous
amount, clutters up my life (kitchen, basement, bookcases, pantry, dining
room, etc., etc.) and, best of all, has allowed me to converse with a
marvelous group of very intelligent beings whom I never would have met
otherwise!
