>In case anyone was thinking that food stamps is a viable alternative to
buying feast food, it isn't legal.? And you cannot reimburse someone who did
buy something for feast with food stamps.? How about posting the items that
you can actually buy with food stamps so we know what consumables we are
looking at.

The question involving the food stamps is for a group of friends cooking
together at a camping event with people on food stamps contributing part of
the food.

If the second question bothers you though the way it is set up, just change
it to:
You have $630 to feed 30 people at a weeklong camping event. $315 of it can
be spent according to food stamp purchasing guidelines. The other $315 may
be spent for food in any way you like.

According to the food stamp website, here is the info about what you can get
with the food stamps.

10. What foods are eligible for purchase with food stamps?
Households CAN use food stamp benefits to buy:

Foods for the household to eat, such as:
  -- breads and cereals
-- fruits and vegetables
-- meats, fish and poultry; and
-- dairy products
Seeds and plants which produce food for the household to eat.

Households CANNOT use food stamp benefits to buy:

Beer, wine, liquor, cigarettes or tobacco
   Any nonfood items, such as:
  -- pet foods;
-- soaps, paper products; and
-- household supplies.
   Vitamins and medicines.
Food that will be eaten in the store.
   Hot foods

In some areas, restaurants can be authorized to accept food stamp benefits
from qualified homeless, elderly, or disabled people in exchange for
low-cost meals. Food stamp benefits cannot be exchanged for cash.

Hope that helps.
