> I have been told time and again that I just "can't" serve fish or lamb at a SCA feast. That it will not be recieved well here in CAID. I KNOW that it SHOULD be eaten, that it was extremely period, and that lamb/mutton and various fish made up the major protein elements of the period diet in many cultures, BUT, I am loathe to argue with the powers that be. Especially at todays prices. Now if I can only get them to eat goat!!

That's a load of hooey, or maybe just a big fish story. Remember, Caid
is mostly seacoast and we have all the best surfing beachs! I have
served fish in Caid for years and people try and like it. Even pickled
herring, which got to be nicknamed "Earl Yummies" on account of a couple
of past royals who fancied the stuff.

I have been rumbling for years about doing an all-seafood feast during
the Lenten season. No fish-haters allowed. Would you care to help make
this a reality? I need a kick to get started.

Bon appetit,
Selene Colfox, Altavia, Caid
