Since we don't have a beginning date in the SCA, I might mention Matthew 5:11-13 - the story of the Gadarene Swine.  I once worked at a church with a youth minister who did a great stand-up routine portraying the Gadarene Swineherd - "You wanna talk having to create a market?  Try raising pigs in Judea."

I always figured the poor sod was selling them to the occupying Romans.
