FYI, from today's Oregonian weekly FoodDay section. Local Italian restaurateur going through family memorabilia has found an apparently quite rare printed Italian cookbook from Napoleonic times. No recipes in the article, but an interesting write-up, and comes with a video interview of Ms Toscano, the owner.
She describes the difficulties of reading the text as "like Shakespearean English, halfway between Latin and modern Italian" [and Nebbia's attempts to "class it up" by adding French culinary terminology of the period, do NOT make it any easier!]
