This is the truth. I'm constantly surprised when people go crazy over the dishes I think are on the weirder side. There's usually one at every feast.

The Russian feast I did in October, I served cold smoked eel in very small portions and not a scrap came back to the kitchen. They also drank every drop of kvass.

In January I did a Spanish feast and a friend made several drink syrups out of the Anonymous Andalusian cookbook. People were fighting over the rose and lavender syrup drinks. Totally unexpected.

You just never know.
