Khushkananaj uses sesame oil, not butter, for the 
pastry, so that might be a possibility. The 
recipe is in the Miscellany, webbed on my site.

Gingerbrede is easy to make, keeps, and has no 
milk in it. Recipe also in the Miscellany.
