The first edition of Mattioli was in Italian in 1544.  The first Latin 
edition was in 1554.

IIRC, there was a revised edition of Mattioli around 1555 or 1556.  The 
first German translation was in 1563.  The second German edition, edited by 
Camerarius (and according to one source) with woodcuts by Gesner, was in 
1586.  I suspect the 1590 German edition may be a rip-off of the Camerarius 
editon.
