Cariadoc suggested a mutton recipe and gave the ingredients.

<<< Boiled Meats Ordinary
The English Huswife p. 47 >>>

<<< 2 lb boned lamb 1 _ lb mixed greens = 6 c

5 c water 3 c oatmeal

1 _ t salt

(Greens: scallions, endive lettuce, Belgian endive, parsley, spinach,

and mustard greens) >>>

Unfortunately, the fractions didn't come through. I suspect you were
copying from a Word file. Can you please tell me what the fractions
are supposed to be?

Thanks,

    Stefan

PS: I've just done an upgrade on my Mac, by moving "backwards". I
replaced my 24 inch Intel iMac with the last, and most powerful G5
PowerMac (Dual, dual core 2.5 Ghz G5 processors and capable of holding
16 Gbytes of memory). On the last machine I was having problems
getting extra blank lines when I copied and pasted to email from Word.
I solved this by copying to textedit first, which strips out unusual,
non-printing characters which Word now apparently puts in, and then
copying and pasting that to my emails. Now, despite doing this I'm
getting extra blank, non-removable lines, as above, even when I go
through textedit. Since I often paste from the Florilegium, in Word
format, I'd like avoid all the extra blank lines.
